Squeeze what?: A 76-year-old woman in Florida said she went “ballistic” when she received a new license plate reading “SQZ A55,” reports CBS News. “I don’t think a senior who is almost 77 will be driving around with a plate that has that to say,”
Nancy Dello Stritto told a reporter. But then she reconsidered: "Maybe it was destined for it to be on my car. I can handle it; maybe I'll even get some honks."
Just playing through: A bear in British Columbia took a golfer’s bag and clubs and carried them away, a video on Reddit shows. The footage shows the bear pull the bag of clubs off the back of a golf cart as the golfer curses and says, “Get away from my golf clubs please … bear, c’mon.” The bear then carries off the bag to a wooded area. The Reddit user who posted the video wisely advised, “Never get between a bear and his clubs.”
Unwanted shower: Two Houston apartments were flooded with water after a pole dancing mishap, reports ABC13. Asha Gilbert was doing a pole dancing workout in her living room when the pole slipped loose and hit the ceiling fire sprinkler, spraying water throughout the apartment and into the unit below. Much of Gilbert's furniture was ruined, and she had to move to a different apartment. She said she’s done with in-home pole dancing “for now.”
Long shower: An 82-year-old woman in North Carolina survived for nine days after falling in her bathtub and finding herself unable to get out because of a back injury, reports The Mountaineer. Joan Rivet, who lives alone in a mountain home, got water by turning on the faucet with her feet and splashing it upto her face. Day after day passsed. “I’d see it get dark and lighter, dark and lighter. I lost track, to be honest, of the days,” she recalled. Her brother, who lives five hours away, asked police to check on Rivet after she didn’t return his calls.
Did she get a tip? Miracle Herron, a 23-year-old worker for DoorDash, was just exiting her vehicle to deliver a Subway sandwich when a car being chased by Houston police slammed into her, knocking the bag of food out of her hands. Video shows that as the fleeing driver ran from his car and police rushed up in pursuit, Herron picked up the bag with the sandwich and completed her delivery. "I was just trying to make sure that person got their food. I didn't want them to think I stole it.”
Off the scale: Remember when a 4.0 grade-point average was the highest possible? In Florida, student Vaibhav Bhaskar just graduated from high school with an 11.99 “weighted GPA, reports the Tampa Bay Times. Bhaskar used bonuses his school offered for honors courses and other advanced classes. He earned 70 credits, despite needing only 24 to graduate. The district has since changed its grading policy, assuring that the Bhaskar’s GPA will never be matched.
